Undergraduate researchers and MMM Lab members, Jayden Plumb and Nate Wilkinson, presented their research at the recent Undergraduate Research Symposium held at the University of Utah.  Jayden gave a talk entitled  3D Grain Characterization of Open-Cell Aluminum Foam, and Nate presented a poster entitled Applying Machine Learning to Microstructurally Small Fatigue Crack Propagation in 3D.

Both Jayden and Nate received awards through the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) in 2016.  Jayden’s work is also funded by the NSF (no. 1629660), and Nate’s work is also funded by AFOSR (FA 9550-15-1-0172).  Jayden will be continuing his research this summer as an intern at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Congratulations on a job well done, Jayden and Nate!URS_2017
